Project-Based Learning

This training helps teachers learn how to use Project-Based Learning (PBL) in their classrooms. PBL is a hands-on way of teaching that lets students solve real-world problems while building important skills like teamwork and critical thinking. Teachers will learn how to plan projects, guide students through their work, and assess their progress. By the end of the training, educators will have tools and ideas to make learning more engaging and meaningful for their students.

This training helps teachers learn how to create clear, effective, and engaging lesson plans. Educators will explore strategies for setting goals, organizing activities, and aligning lessons with standards. The training also covers tips for managing time, using resources, and meeting the needs of all students. By the end, participants will feel confident in designing lessons that support learning and keep students engaged.

classroom management

This training helps teachers learn strategies to create a positive and well-organized classroom. Educators will explore ways to set clear expectations, build strong relationships with students, and handle challenging behaviors effectively. The training also covers tips for keeping students engaged and maintaining a productive learning environment. By the end, teachers will have tools to manage their classrooms with confidence and support student success.

Building Literacy

This training helps after-school educators learn how to support reading, writing, and vocabulary skills in fun and engaging ways. Participants will explore activities and strategies to build students’ literacy skills, boost confidence, and encourage a love of learning. The training also covers tips for creating a supportive environment where all students can succeed. By the end, educators will have practical tools to make literacy a key part of their program.

Developing Leadership Activities

This training helps after-school educators create fun and meaningful learning activities while developing their leadership skills. Participants will learn how to design activities that build skills, keep students engaged, and support their growth, both academically and personally. The training emphasizes the importance of being a strong leader by fostering teamwork, setting a positive example, and inspiring students to succeed. Educators will also learn tips for adapting activities for different age groups and using simple materials. By the end, participants will feel confident as leaders and have practical tools to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

In New York, all child care staff/employees/caregivers and volunteers with potential for regular and substantial contact with children must complete a total of 30 hours of training every two (2) years.

We Major is an Aspire-Registered organization that provides in-service training to school-age after-school programs in New York.
